DraftKings NBA Recommendations for Dec. 17th

Point Guard

Kyrie Irving (CLE) $7,300 vs. Lakers

Kyrie Irving should return after having a week of rest against a Lakers team coming off a win in Philadelphia. The Lakers are the 8th worst team defending point guards, according to Rotowire.com. In addition, the Lakers have given up 20+ points to opposing point guards in five of their last six games. The outlier is Sergio Rodriguez, who isn’t much of a scorer. Irving is averaging a career high 23.9 points this season.

Shooting Guard

Klay Thompson (GS) $6,700 vs. Trail Blazers

In the highest projected point total for the night, Klay Thompson could be in line for a massive line. Seeing as he averaged 19 shot attempts against the Trail Blazers last season and his attempts have only declined by two this season, he could have a chance to match his 29.3 points per game against Portland. Shockingly, he is averaging 29 points in his last six games.

Small Forward

LeBron James (CLE) $9,800 vs. Lakers

As with Kyrie Irving, LeBron James is coming off some nice rest and will be fresh to take on the Lakers. Not very surprising, but James has dominated the Lakers ever since his return to Cleveland. His averages include 26.3 points, 7.8 rebounds and 6.8 assists per game. It will be interesting who will guard James as Julius Randle might be the only one capable of withstanding his muscle. We’ll most likely be in line for a big stat line from The King.

Power Forward

Gorgui Dieng (MIN) $5,800 vs. Rockets

Gorgui Dieng has been in double-digit scoring his past five games which has seen a $500 rise in his DraftKings value within that span. Being guarded by Ryan Anderson, Dieng should have his way down low and on the rebounding end against him.

Mason Plumlee (POR) $5,800 vs. Warriors

Mason Plumlee has been going off the past three games and he is still undervalued. Yes, he’s playing the Warriors, but that shouldn’t matter when he’s putting up these stat lines. His last three games have yielded 18.3 points, seven rebounds and four assists per game. Reminder, this point projection is 231 points!!!

Gary Harris (DEN) $4,700 vs. Knicks

Gary Harris returned from injury and produced 18 points, four rebounds and six assists. The Knicks are down Derrick Rose, which moves Brandon Jennings into the starting lineup. The Knicks have been the 6th worst team against opposing guards in the last five games, according to Rotowire.com. Harris provides additional stats on the defensive end that makes his $4,700 salary attractive.

Danilo Gallinari (DEN) $5,600 vs. Knicks

Speaking of the Knicks/Nuggets matchup, Danilo Gallinari might be the safest option in Daily Fantasy in this matchup. The Knicks are the 4th worst team against opposing small forwards this season. Gallinari is coming off a 27 point outing against the Trail Blazers and hopefully continues his scoring tonight. He is the best offensive talent on Denver’s roster and should be unleashed.

Cody Zeller (CHA) $4,300 vs. Hawks

With so much salary distributed on the other players, Cody Zeller seems like the only player left that contributes a consistent 20+ fantasy point value every game. He will have his hands full containing Dwight Howard, but the Hawks are coming into the second half of a back-to-back. Other options might include Kent Bazemore or Joakim Noah.
