Last night we reported from a source that Dwayne Wade and the Cleveland Cavaliers were close to an agreement on a contract. Other media outlets have started to come out and report there is optimism between the two parties.
Brian Windhorst’s sources has informed him that Wade has cancelled his meeting with the Bucks that was set up for this week.
Dwyane Wade has canceled some free agent meetings with teams he’d set up with this week, sources said.

Back when LeBron James decided to return to Cleveland, Joe Lull provided a photo of the Cavaliers’ owner Dan Gilbert flying to Miami to meet with James. It happened again last night.
Wade, James and Chris Paul were all on vacation in Spain, but the flight shows that it occurred between 7:30 and 10:00 PM on July 4th. Wade, James and Dan Gilbert were reportedly on the flight.
To add fuel to the fire, Cavaliers legend Austin Carr has a son who posted on Facebook that Wade indeed was signing with Cleveland.
The Cavaliers have about $3.5M in cap space but their biggest free agent, James, hasn’t signed a contract yet. There is a possibility that the two friends could take pay cuts to join forces again, and possibly re-sign J.R. Smith.
Can you blame Wade? He could re-sign /sign with any other Eastern Conference team, but he probably wouldn’t get past the Cavaliers.
While Wade’s presence would bring a lot of attention to other teams, Kyrie Irving and James’ fantasy outlooks would remain the same. Kevin Love and J.R. Smith would presumably have their stocks drop considerably.
