Week 14: Waiver Wire Pick-Ups

Dan “Boom” Herron

The third year back out of Ohio State continued success totaling 88 yards on 8 carries with a TD in Week 13’s blowout win against the Redskins. In Boom Herron’s last two games he’s totaled 192 yards with one touchdown. Herron has fumbled in both those games, but he is clearly out-running Trent Richardson. He gets a very weak Browns Run Defense in the ‘Dawg Pound’ next week.

Johnny Manziel

“The Time Is Now.” Remember when Cleveland Cavs fans pumped this quote with LeBron James and hopes in winning a Championship? Well, the same quote is back, it’s just for a whiter, scrawnier, less-athletic, smaller, egotistical, attention seeking diva, quarterback… Johnny Manziel.  Manziel replaced Brian Hoyer in the 4th quarter igniting a stagnant Browns offense. Manziel scored on his first NFL possession and possesses big-play potential with his athletic ability, but Brian Hoyer is 7-5 as the Browns are on the rim of making the playoffs. Pettine is expected to make a decision on Wednesday.

Donte Moncrief

Moncrief was tabbed as a Legion Report Sleeper to begin the season, but has bloomed a little later than expected. Moncrief’s 28 snaps were 11 more than Hakeem Nicks’ 17. Despite only playing 28 snaps, the freakishly- athletic WR exploded with 134 yards and 2 TD’s on 4 Targets. All 3 of Moncriefs TD’s this year came from 40 yards out. The Rookie WR is an even sexier add in Keeper Leagues where he should reign as the WR2 in Andrew Lucks Offense next season. If the Browns stick Joe Haden on T.Y. Hilton next week, we could see another big game for Moncrief as he lines up across from Buster Scrine.

Davante Adams

Another Keeper WR Add, Adams is expected to become the WR2 in Green Bays Offense next season, if-and-only-if the Packers don’t resign Randall Cobb and his expiring contract. Regardless, it’s evident Rodgers wants Adams involved as he looked his way 11 times in Sunday’s win against the Patriots. Adams is still considered a boom-or-bust type WR in this offense moving forward.

Kenny Stills

We’ve now seen 3 consistent games out of WR Kenny Stills where he has totaled almost 300 yards 2 TD’s and 20 Targets over that span. Stills and the Saints face a very favorable Fantasy Football Playoff Schedule in the Panthers, Bears and Falcons. His snap count is still questionably low, but we should expect that to rise as the Saints are pushing hard for a division title out of the NFC South.

Robert Woods

Desperate or Deep Leaguers should take a second look at Robert Woods heading into Week 14. The Bills square up against the Denver Bronco’s which warrants the fact that Buffalo will get behind big, early. Woods has totaled 189 yards and a TD on 18 Targets the past two weeks. With Sammy Watkins recent poor play and hip injury late in Week 13’s matchup against the Browns, Woods could see increased production moving forward.

Kamar Aiken

Another Desperate or Deep League Player to keep an eye on. Kamar Aiken entered half-way through Week 13’s matchup against SD when Marlon Brown left with a concussion. Torrey Smith was also spotted limping badly in the Ravens locker room after the tough loss. The Baltimore Sun also expressed concern over Smith’s injury. With the 35 year old Steve Smith Sr. slowing down, Aiken could also see a tick in production if Torrey Smith’s injury is serious. Although we wouldn’t waste a waiver on Aiken, monitor the situation.

Jordan Reed

With Colt McCoy playing QB, Jordan Reed has averaged 8 catches for 81.5 yards. Reed has been targeted the most in Colt McCoy’s two starts at 18. Jordan Reed looked healthy and should be considered a TE1 moving forward (as long as he can remain healthy).

St. Louis Rams

We added the Rams in our Waiver Wire posts the past couple weeks, if you’ve missed those and they’re still out there – go grab them now! Don’t even finish this article! The Rams have almost 4 sacks per game in their last 7. They’re extremely hot with 7 INT’s in their last 4 games; they also have 4 fumbles in their previous two. They get the Redskins next week, where Defenses are averaging 16.5 points against them the past 2 games.

Baltimore Ravens

We’re looking ahead with this pickup. Although the Ravens Defense isn’t playing the greatest, they still get the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 15. You probably won’t be able to stream anything better than that…

Here’s some Raiders football for you guys…
