Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Pick-Ups – Week 5

Philip Rivers – 72% Yahoo! owned – Rivers shredded the Dallas Defense for 401 yards and 3 TD’s. Rivers has another easy matchups in the Raiders next week and is a good Bye Week replacement. On the season, Rivers has 11 TD’s and only 2 interceptions. I wouldn’t expect this to carry on too much longer, now is the time to Sell High.

Brian Hoyer – 6% Yahoo! owned – Hoyer gets the nod to start Week 5 at home against a weak Buffalo Bills Pass Defense. Hoyer has looked pretty go so far as he’s led the Browns to a 2 game winning streak. This Bills picked off Flacco 5 times this week, but that’s no consolation. The Bills are giving up a little under 300 passing yards a game, but seem to struggle more on the road. Hoyer is a decent Bye Week replacement.

Danny Woodhead – 40% Yahoo! owned – Woodhead has been a consistent producer this season and a jolt into the San Diego offense. Woodhead grabbed 5 receptions for 54 yards and 2 TDs along with rushing 5 times for 32 yards. San Diego goes up against Oakland in Week 5 – whether an injury replacement or bye-week replacement, Woodhead is a consistent source for points, especially in PPR Leagues. PICK HIM UP!

Rashad Jennings – 5% Yahoo! owned – Darren McFadden suffered a Grade 1 pull of his hamstring on Sunday. Backup RB, Marcel Reece also left the game with a serious knee injury. Rashad Jennings came in relief Sunday rushing 15 times for 45 yards, while catching 8 passes for 71 yards. Expect to see Rashad Jennings start next week.

Roy Helu – 12% Yahoo! owned – Unfortunately for Helu owners, Washington has a Bye Week this upcoming week. This will allow Morris to heal after his rib injury sustained in Week 4. After Morris left the game on Sunday, Helu totaled 84 yards and a TD. Helu is considered a Top Handcuff due to his big playmaking ability. Morris owners shouldn’t hesitate to grab him.

Alshon Jeffery – 46% Yahoo! owned – Regardless of what they say in Get Him To The Greek – Jeffrey posted a strong performance – 107 receiving yards, 1 TD and 27 rushing yards. Lining up opposite of Brandon Marshall will have its benefits as the season wears on. We don’t recommend him as a confident start, but Jeffrey is worthy of a pick-up in 12 team leagues.

Kenbrell Thompkins – 73% Yahoo! owned – Thompkins led the Patriots in receiving last night with 6 receptions on 11 targets for 127 yards and a TD. Thompkins is known for having off field issues (at the age of 18, was arrested 7 times in a 3 year span). Anybody who attends this many schools has issues – Palomar Community College, El Camino Community College, University of Tennessee, University of Southern California, University of Oklahoma Sooners, and University of Cincinnati. In unrelated news, Kenbrell Thompkins is a cousin of Pittsburgh Steelers WR, Antonio Brown.

Heath Miller – 44% Yahoo! owned – Heath Millers snap count is quickly increasing as he played in 75 of 79 snaps in his Week 4 matchup against the Vikings. Heath Miller is consistently relied upon by Big Ben, especially in the End Zone. Miller is considered a Low-End TE1.

Coby Fleener – 32% Yahoo! owned – Fleener has been consistently inconsistent so far this season. If you play the trend right, you may be in luck. See below:

Week Opponent Opp Rush Opp Pass Rec Yds TD Tgt
1 vs Raiders 23 4 1 7 1
2 vs Dolphins 12 20 4 69 1 8
3 at 49ers 28 8 2 13 2
4 at Jaguars 27 27 5 77 1 7

St. Louis Defense – St. Louis squares off against the Jags this week. Indi smacked Jacksonville in the mouth last week with 4 Sacks, 3 Ints, 3 Points Allowed and 1 TD. Regardless if you want to start them or not – Grab St. Louis so the other guy can’t. Yeah … We’re totally those guys in our leagues.
